MGE Día de Fútbol

MGE, Breese Stevens Field and La Movida team up for second annual soccer event.

MGE, Breese Stevens and La Movida are teaming up to provide a free, family-friendly event for soccer fans young and old! Visit Breese Stevens Field on Sunday, Oct. 8, for a day of youth soccer clinics and scrimmages, live music, food vendors and a meet and greet with Mexican soccer legend, Alberto Garcia Aspe.

Día de Fútbol kicks off with a youth soccer clinic from 10 a.m. until noon. Kids 15-years-old and younger can learn more about the fundamentals of soccer such as dribbling, passing, shooting and more. Alberto Garcia Aspe, a former midfielder and captain for the Mexican national team, will be signing autographs from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Garcia Aspe also played in three FIFA World Cups. The afternoon will include youth matches and wrap up around 4 p.m.

Two of MGE's energy experts, Mayra Medrano and Mario Garcia Sierra, will be on-hand to offer energy education. Stop by and see the all-new, all-electric Chevy Bolt and learn more about our public charging network (powered by green energy) and Charge@Home, our new program for electric vehicle owners to quickly charge their car's battery at home.
