Take home some energy efficiency tips this fall while enjoying soccer at Breese Stevens Field. MGE's Día de Futbol returns Sun., Oct. 7, 2018, in partnership with the Madison Mallards organization and La Movida Radio.

The free event offers soccer clinics and scrimmages for kids, food vendors, music, and information from MGE energy experts. Learn about safety, energy efficiency, electric vehicles and more. Families will have a chance to meet retired soccer star Luis Hernandez, also known as El Matador. Hernandez played for the Mexico national soccer team and in the 1998 and 2002 FIFA World Cup. “Kikin” Fonseca, a member of Mexico’s 2006 World Cup team, was expected but is unable to attend.

Off the field, MGE's Pedal Power generator is hands-on—and legs-on—learning for kids! This one-of-a-kind bicycle shows how much human power it takes to produce electricity for a variety of things like incandescent bulbs, LED bulbs, fans, radios and more.

Mario Garcia Sierra and other MGE energy experts will be on hand to answer questions about energy efficiency, safety, electric vehicles and more.

Gates to Breese Stevens Field open at 9:15 a.m. Activities run from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Join MGE energy experts—and other soccer fans—for a fun-filled Sunday this October!
