Interested in renewable energy to power your home?
MGE continues to invest in renewable energy to serve all customers as we build a greener electric grid. Customers looking to further reduce their carbon footprint can participate in optional MGE programs to purchase renewable energy.
MGE's Green Power Tomorrow (GPT) program offers a flexible, affordable option for supporting renewable energy and offsetting greenhouse gas emissions at only a penny more per kilowatt-hour. Visit mge.com/GPT to learn more.
MGE's GPT renewable natural gas (RNG) option is an easy way to offset greenhouse gas emissions from the use of natural gas. Visit mge.com/GPTRNG for details.
Shared Solar is MGE's community solar program where participants purchase shares of solar energy produced by MGE solar arrays. Visit mge.com/sharedsolar to learn more and to join the waiting list.
Do you have questions about rebates through the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA)?
The first of two Home Energy Rebate programs through the IRA is now available in Wisconsin. Home Efficiency Rebates (HOMES) help to reduce the cost of home energy projects, such as air sealing, insulation, doors, windows and some appliances. Learn more about the HOMES program from MGE's partner in energy efficiency, FOCUS ON ENERGY®.
The second program, Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR), is coming soon. HEAR will provide rebates on efficient electrical equipment and appliances, such as heat pumps for heating and cooling, heat pump clothes dryers, induction ranges, and electrical panel and wiring upgrades. Learn more about the HEAR program.
What are Time-of-Use rates?
Time-of-Use (TOU) rates give customers the opportunity to reduce their electric bills by shifting the time of day when they use electricity. It is more expensive to serve customers on-peak—when demand for electricity is high. Through our TOU rate, customers who shift the majority of their usage during low electric demand—known as off-peak times—are able to save on their electric bills. Learn more about TOU rates.
