Hot Summer EVents

Learn about electric vehicles (EVs) from MGE's energy experts.

While grabbing a taco at the Madison Night Market or listening to music at Concerts on the Square, stop by MGE's booth and learn about EVs.  No pressure to buy one, just a great opportunity to check out an all-electric Chevy Bolt and hear more about driving and charging EVs from MGE's energy experts.

EVs have come a long way in recent years. You can now go farther and charge faster. The Chevy Bolt is a great example. Charge your vehicle overnight, and you can drive about 238 miles the next day. For most people, that's plenty of range to get to work and run errands. Ask our experts about MGE's Charge@Homeprogram. It's a simple way to get a Level 2 (240 volt) charging station installed at your home with no upfront costs.

Need a few extra miles of range? No worries. There are more than 50 public charging stations in the Madison area, including 30 MGE-owned charging stations that are 100% powered by wind. If you need to fill up faster, stop by one of seven DC fast chargers in Dane County. You'll get 60-to-80 miles of range in about 20 minutes.

The Bolt is one of many EV models available locally. In 2017, there were more than 40 models of EVs, including minivans, crossovers and SUVs. EV 101 events are a great opportunity to check out a variety of EV models. In addition to MGE's Bolt, EV owners will have their personal vehicles on hand so you can get the scoop from actual drivers.

Here are some places where you can find MGE's Bolt this summer. Stop by and chat with one of our energy experts. We can help you figure out if an EV is a good fit for your lifestyle.
